I recently went to The Yard on Broadway, an indoor food hall with food of course, drinks, ice cream, games, and big screens.
And let me tell you, I have been waiting for something like this for years!
If you have kids, you know how hard it is for them to sit still while eating. They just want to get up and play or annoy you.
As a diner, you know how hard it is to find options that suit a lot of different people. It’s nice to have a lot of variety.
Well, enter The Yard on Broadway.
The Yard offers everything you want for a more relaxed lunch, dinner, or drinks with family and friends.
It’s easy: simply check out the restaurants, order something, let the kids play, pick up the food, eat for a while, let the kids play, and just…chill, knowing the kids have made some local friends and are having fun.
The nice thing I like about The Yard is that they have plenty of FREE games for the kids to play. They also have paid arcade games, but they have a bunch of free gross motor skill games. Sure, give your kids a dollar or two, but tell them to just go play.
The play area at The Yard also have a bunch of board games, which are kind of hard to see, but they’re there.
A note on the food…well, I will say the food options are pretty meat heavy. I ordered the Chicken Waffle Fry Nachos from Watsons, and the fries were pretty soggy when all was said and done. Unfortunately, I should have just gone with the chicken and fries separately.
I didn’t get anything from Smith Burger, but if you’re a burger person, I’m sure you’re in heaven. But overall, the menu choices are somewhat lacking in veggies, which is just my opinion. I personally enjoy insane amounts of vegetables with my meals, and I know that’s not the norm.
But overall, The Yard is a GREAAAAT addition to the already growing and thriving Urbana, and I’m sure you will love it!
