‘Tis the Season to get out, shop for gifts, and support your local businesses. There’s no better way to do that than to go to the Mistletoe Market at Lincoln Square Mall in Urbana.

The Mistletoe Market is really nice because it combines local holiday crafts with the indoor farmer’s market. So there are Christmas gifts you can buy from local artists as well as fresh produce from local farms. It feels very ‘Urbana’.

I went recently with my kids to visit Santa. You can visit Santa and the huge tree there. It’s a good set up. There are photo packages you can purchase for $25, but I asked the photographer if I could just take my own pictures, and she said yes, of course. I thought that was really nice, and I didn’t feel obligate to buy the package. But it was really nice, so I did Venmo her $10 for the experience. I think it’s nice that Santa is there and they are offering it.
In addition, the Urbana High School A cappella group was singing. So literally, the moment we walked in, it felt very festive because of the music.

The new restaurant “Lazy Daisy” has also expanded and they have a colorful seating area right there too. That looked very inviting, and I was temped to sit down and relax.
So overall, the market is a really great place to feel some really nice holiday vibes and find local gifts.
